Four SAC Alums to Open New Funds

Several veterans of Steve Cohen's firm are launching funds this year, and some have managed to start with significant assets despite the controversy surrounding their alma mater.

For all of the investors and seeders who say it's going to be tough for portfolio managers who came out of SAC Capital Advisors to launch funds of their own, there are at least four exceptions.

A quartet of SAC alumni have big plans to start four new funds in the first quarter of 2013. All of them have secured capital commitments in the range of $100 million to $300 million
