Louis Moore Bacon: River keeper

Hedge fund manager and conservationist Louis Moore Bacon recently gave $100,000 to Riverkeeper, a watchdog organization "dedicated to defending the Hudson River and its tributaries and protecting the drinking water supply of nine million New York City and Hudson Valley residents." The founder of Moore Capital Management has given more than $1 million to Riverkeeper through his foundation, according to the Wall Street Journal. A part-time Southampton, New York resident, Moore gave the gift to support Riverkeeper’s work to shut down the Indian Point nuclear power plant.
