Robin Hood goes Gaga

April 01, 2011   Lawrence Delevingne

Lady Gaga will headline the Robin Hood Foundation fundraising gala on May 9 in Manhattan. The pop singer is the latest in a string of stars including Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones to help the charity raise money to fight poverty in New York City. Last year, the evening raised $87.8 million, thanks to a matching gift from George Soros; in 2009, Robin Hood pulled in $72.6 million. “The good people of Gotham are gathering in Sherwood Forest (Javits Center) to celebrate the work we’ve done and raise funds to do more,” the invitation said of the annual “no black tie, green tights optional” event, according to Bloomberg.
