David Tepper does the Hamptons

June 01, 2010

David Tepper is joining the Hamptons crowd. The founder of Appaloosa Management bought a 6,200-square-foot mansion in exclusive Sagaponack, N.Y., according to a Wall Street Journal report.

The exact price wasn't disclosed, but the house had reportedly been on sale for $50 million. According to a rental listing from Sotheby's, the property features seven bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms and sits on 6.6 acres.

Amenities include a heated in-ground pool, hot tub and spa, and a tennis court.

Tepper, who made $4 billion in 2009 and topped AR's Rich List this year, reportedly bought the house from Joanne Corzine, the ex-wife of former New Jersey governor Jon Corzine.
