Michael Peltz- Editor, Institutional Investor's Alpha
Michael Peltz is editor of Institutional Investor's magazine group, overseeing all editorial operations, including Institutional Investor's Alpha and Institutional Investor and their web sites. He has covered hedge funds for nearly 20 years, starting with a March 1994 Institutional Investor profile of D.E. Shaw. His 2010 opus on high frequency trading, which appeared just weeks after the flash crash, won the prestigious Stephen Barr Award for feature writing by the American Society of Business Press Editors. He has appeared numerous times on television and radio, including BBC, Bloomberg, CNBC, Fox News, MSNBC and the Today Show.
Amanda Cantrell- Managing Editor, Institutional Investor's Alpha
Amanda Cantrell is the managing editor of Institutional Investor's Alpha. She has covered hedge funds for more than a decade, profiling top hedge fund firms including Magnetar Capital, Och-Ziff Capital Management, Lone Pine Capital and Paulson & Co. and chronicling the industry's explosive growth from a cottage industry to one of the most widely followed segments of the capital markets. She has appeared as a commentator on hedge funds on CNBC's Squawk Box, the Today Show and ABC World News This Morning and has also contributed freelance articles to a variety of publications including The New York Times, Cosmopolitan and Pop Culture Press. She holds a master's degree in journalism from New York University, where she has also worked as an adjunct professor of journalism.
Stephen Taub has been a business journalist for more than 35 years, with 25 years of experience covering hedge funds. In addition to writing the daily Long & Short hedge fund blog for Institutional Investor's Alpha, he creates the publication's annual Rich List of the 25 top-earning hedge fund managers. Taub has interviewed and profiled many of the industry's top managers, including Julian Robertson Jr., Seth Klarman, David Tepper, Paul Tudor Jones II, Bruce Kovner, Izzy Englander, Glenn Dubin, Henry Swieca, Marc Lasry and Bill Ackman. A fulltime freelancer, Steve was previously the V.P. of content for cfo.com, editor of individualinvestor.com and editor-in-chief of Financial World magazine, where he spent 17 years serving in a variety of roles.
Irwin Speizer has more than two decades of experience as a writer and editor in business and finance for magazines, newspapers and web sites. He has been a contributing writer to Alpha, Workforce Management and Business North Carolina magazines. He has also been published in Institutional Investor, Fast Company, Worthwhile, On Wall Street and other magazines.
